25th April 2024 – According to a statement from the firm, HashiCorp’s skills will significantly boost IBM’s synergies across a number of critical growth areas, including Red Hat, Watsonx, data security, IT automation, and consulting. 

The multi-cloud infrastructure automation startup HashiCorp was purchased by IBM, a prominent player in IT, for $35 cash per share, or an enterprise value of $6.4 billion. According to a firm statement, HashiCorp’s skills will significantly boost IBM’s synergies across several critical growth areas, including Red Hat, Watsonx, data security, IT automation, and consulting.

Arvind Krishna, Chairman and CEO of IBM, said, “Enterprise clients are grappling with an unparalleled proliferation in infrastructure and applications across public and private clouds, as well as on-prem environments.”
