23 March 2024 – In a move to empower students with relevant skills for the modern workforce and promote sustainability, the Department of Technical Education in Andhra Pradesh has partnered with the Learning Links Foundation from Delhi. This collaboration aims to introduce the Green Skills Passport Programme across polytechnic colleges in the state, equipping students with essential knowledge and skills.
The initiative, formalized through an agreement signed by Commissioner Chadalawada Nagarani and Vandana Chaudhary, Senior General Manager of Learning Links Foundation, seeks to provide diploma students with training in areas crucial to sustainability, employability, and entrepreneurship. Through this partnership, students will undergo an 11-hour course offered free of charge, designed to prepare them for the demands of a green economy. Upon completion of the program, participants will be awarded a certificate co-badged by renowned organizations Ernst and Young (EY) and Microsoft.
Nagarani highlighted the program’s importance, emphasizing its role in guiding students toward employment opportunities and fostering sustainable practices. Initially, the initiative will be implemented in polytechnic colleges located in the Visakhapatnam region, with plans for statewide expansion in the future.
