23 March 2024 – In a significant move towards social responsibility, the Bajaj Group has announced a commitment of Rs 5,000 crore over the next five years for various social impact projects. With a primary focus on skill development, the initiative, termed ‘Bajaj Beyond’, aims to empower millions of youth with essential skills to thrive in India’s evolving economy.
The diversified Bajaj Group, known for its wide-ranging business interests spanning across sectors, is set to channel its CSR efforts towards initiatives aimed at skill enhancement. This comprehensive approach, encapsulated under the ‘Bajaj Beyond’ umbrella, is designed to benefit over 2 crore youth, equipping them with the requisite skills to tap into employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in India.
Over the past decade, the Bajaj Group has been actively involved in various CSR initiatives, contributing nearly Rs 4,000 crore towards projects focusing on education, health, livelihood, water conservation, and more. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, stressed the importance of practical action over mere slogans, emphasizing the need for skills to drive tangible social change.
Under the ‘Bajaj Beyond‘ initiative, flagship programs such as the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) program and Bajaj Finserv Ltd’s certificate program in banking, finance, and insurance (CPBFI) will play pivotal roles. The BEST program aims to enhance the skills of engineering graduates in cutting-edge technologies relevant to Industry 4.0, while the CPBFI program seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry by offering specialized training.
