Blume Ventures Leads INR 60 Crore Funding Round for Sustainable Packaging Startup Bambrew

29 March 2024 – Bambrew, a cleantech startup focusing on sustainable packaging solutions, has secured INR 60 crore in its recent funding round, with Blume Ventures taking the lead. This Series A round, consisting of a mix of equity and debt, also attracted investment from Blue Ashva Capital, Mumbai Angels, Indus Capital, and several prominent angel investors.

Founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Anant, Bambrew offers alternatives to single-use plastics, providing packaging solutions that are environmentally friendly and degradable. With the freshly raised funds, the startup plans to expand its offerings into primary packaging for FMCG and food and beverage sectors, enhance manufacturing capabilities, invest in research and development, and expand its team.

Vaibhav Anant emphasized Bambrew’s goal of diversifying its geographical presence and introducing a range of sustainable solutions across various packaging categories. The startup aims to assist brands in adopting materials that are not only more sustainable but also functional in meeting their packaging needs.

Arpit Agarwal, a partner at Blume Ventures, highlighted the importance of sustainable packaging solutions in light of evolving regulatory frameworks such as extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations in India. He expressed confidence in Bambrew’s ability to provide comprehensive solutions for FMCG and e-commerce clients, citing the team’s innovative capacity and competitive edge.

Bambrew has experienced significant growth since its inception, claiming a 100X expansion. Its products are certified by the Indian government and the Central Pollution Control Board as plastic-free and compostable within 130 days. The startup serves a notable clientele, including Amazon, Nykaa, Bata, and Mahindra.
