27 March 2024 – Elon Musk has just revealed that all premium users of the social media network X, previously known as Twitter, would soon have access to Grok, the chatbot developed by xAI. Musk posted about this discovery on X, but he didn’t provide any further information. Grok was previously only accessible to Premium+ members.
Following a legal conflict with OpenAI over charges of deviating from its initial objective in favor of a for-profit strategy, Musk open-sourced Grok earlier this month. Musk said on X that GrokAI would soon be accessible to a wider audience, writing, “This week, Grok will be made available to all premium subscribers—not just premium+.”
As previously stated, GrokAI was just released as open-source software, with an open release on GitHub. When an AI model is open-sourced, its source code is made available for anyone to edit and distribute.
