19 April 2024 — Mayani, a Filipino agritech startup focused on empowering farmers and fisherfolk, has been named one of the first five climate and nature impact innovators in the Amplifier mentorship program in Singapore.
The Amplifier program, launched at the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2024, supports impact startups like Mayani with funding of up to 250,000 Singaporean dollars and mentorship from global industry leaders.
Mayani and other startups were chosen based on their impact potential, business feasibility, and alignment with the program’s goals of addressing complex social and environmental issues.
The Amplifier program takes a holistic approach, involving experts, mentors, and resources from various sectors to help impact startups achieve scalability and positive impact in Asia. The 2024 program focuses on scaling solutions in sustainable agriculture, circular business models, waste management, sustainable materials, and emissions reduction.
Mayani plans to expand its network of farmers and fisherfolk to one million across 12 regions, leveraging the support and guidance of Amplifier mentors such as ABC Impact, 500Global, and Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia.
