Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, launched two Centres of Excellence (COE) — media & entertainment and electronics at Skill Development Institute (SDI) in Bhubaneswar through a virtual ceremony.
The inauguration of the COEs aims to equip the youth with employability and futuristic skills, enhancing their opportunities for employment in reputed organizations. These initiatives align with the government’s focus on preparing the workforce for the demands of the 21st-century job market and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
Minister Pradhan emphasized the importance of skilling initiatives in driving economic growth and empowering citizens with demand-driven skills. The addition of CoEs for HVAC, Media & Entertainment at SDI Bhubaneswar is expected to strengthen skilling efforts in Odisha.
The Media & Entertainment Centre, spanning 4,000 square feet, and the Electronics Centre, covering 1,920 square feet, are equipped with modern facilities such as smart classrooms and digital learning platforms. These centres aim to promote accessibility, inclusivity, and innovation in skill development.
