08 April 2024 – According to the executive chairman of Startup Odisha Omkar Rai, India has emerged as the world’s third-biggest startup economy, behind only the United States and China. Rai made this announcement on Saturday.
Speaking at the Institute of Technical Education and Research’s (ITER) “SOA E-Summit-2024” opening, Rai said that rather than looking for work themselves, students should show more interest in startups, become independent, and position themselves as job suppliers. He was happy that SOA was emphasising the development of incubation facilities and that startups were giving students tremendous opportunities to turn their ideas into profitable businesses with little capital outlay.
One thousand nine hundred forty startups have been officially acknowledged in Odisha. Of these, 151 are in the agriculture sector, 25 are in artificial intelligence, 27 are in the automotive industry, 13 are in telecommunication and networking, 133 are in the education sector, 2 are in ordinary energy, and 22 are in renewable energy.
