ONDC Sees the Network's Onboarding Of News Media Platforms

25th April 2024 – The massive Hindi media company Dainik Jagran’s digital division is now integrating with ONDC at an advanced level. The state-backed network is making the argument that media companies may provide more “value” than merely advertising on their platforms if they help e-commerce transactions. News media platforms are apparently interested in joining the state-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) in order to strengthen their category play.

According to Moneycontrol, the digital division of the massive Hindi media company Dainik Jagran is now integrating with ONDC at an advanced level as part of this plan. The letter said, citing its justification, that media platforms are separated from the point of greatest value production (the transaction) by means of affiliate marketing and advertising. The network said that this reduces the amount of customization and the fees that media platforms may charge.

Conclusion:

Media companies may let their customers to trade directly via their channels, while other industry participants handle sellers by combining inventories, catalogues, and other services to complete a transaction. According to the letter from ONDC, the media company may now solely concentrate on customising the offering to the greatest advantage of the client from the range of goods and services offered, shifting its emphasis from advertising to demand creation.
