Pallia Srinivas Wipro: Investors Restless, Optimism for a Turnaround Awaiting Srinivas Pallia, the Company's Next CEO

08 April 2024 – When he takes over as CEO of Wipro Ltd., Srinivas Pallia will have to contend with a demanding business environment, impatient shareholders due to a delayed turnaround, and extremely high expectations. This is because the $245 billion Indian IT industry is going through one of its worst periods ever.

He still had 15 months left on his contract. Pallia, 56, a 30-year Wipro veteran and the CEO of Americas 1, the company’s biggest and fastest-growing region, assumed leadership of the business on Sunday.

Experts advised him to reverse senior-level attrition as soon as he takes over and improve staff morale at the nation’s fourth-largest IT services and consulting company. According to them, Pallia will need to regain Wipro’s magic to once again be in demand as an employer.

Conclusion

Pareekh Jain, CEO and principal analyst of information platform EIIRTrend, said that “he will also need to bring large deals to move the needle in performance like Wipro’s large peers and also focus on more client mining to increase $100-million-plus accounts.”
