12 April 2024 – After spending many days battling for her life after being hit by a speeding SUV on the Upper East Side during last week’s rain storms, the young founder of a cybersecurity research business passed away, according to police. The 30-year-old founder of Margin Research, Sophia D’Antoine, passed away on Friday, according to authorities.

She had been hit by a speeding 2017 Land Rover SUV around half a block from her residence three days before. Around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, D’Antoine was crossing York Avenue at East 87th Street when the horrific collision happened. The Land Rover, driven by a 72-year-old male, struck D’Antoine first, then struck a cab head-on, crashing into an unoccupied, parked 2022 Ford Explorer SUV, according to authorities.

D’Antoine resided on East 87th, according to the records, roughly half a block from the scene of the terrible event. According to the business website, she established Margin Research, a boutique research organization with headquarters in New York City, in 2018.
