Tamil Nadu's Economy Could Reach Usd 4.21 Trillion by 2047, According to a Cii Estimate

According to a vision document released by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Thursday, the state will be able to secure the top spot on the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) scale with a $4.21 trillion economy in 2047 with the developments in industrial, digital, and social infrastructure, global education, and vocational skill development.

Upon releasing the Tamil Nadu@100 Vision Document, Finance Secretary T Udaychandran declared that the state’s economy is not a single-sector economy. We require a sizable talent pool with an emphasis on skilling, reskilling, and upskilling the current workforce in order to support this enormous increase. “Our state is the nation’s most urbanized state,” he continued.

“There are enormous prospects in every single field. From the state’s perspective, we understand that we must make investments and interact with businesses in particular sectors, particularly the sunrise industry. The finance secretary stated, “We are at the top, from green hydrogen to electric vehicles. Sunrise sectors like green and renewable energy are the key.”


Conclusion

“A lot of efforts are being taken from academia and the government, but what we require is for the industry here today to start arranging regular meetings wherein the big industry and the MSMEs come forward and discuss areas of improvement,” stated Dr V Kamakoti, director of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in his keynote address.
