15 April 2024 – Accenture sent an offer to Bengaluru-based tech enthusiast Abhishek (name changed) to work as an Associate Software Engineer in 2019. He was a first-year student at a Bengaluru tier-II engineering institution, earning Rs 3.5 lakh annually.
Abhishek experimented with natural language processing (NLP), a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) that allows machines to understand, produce, and modify human language, for his senior thesis before joining Accenture. The short encounter piqued his interest in AI and related fields.
When COVID-19 struck the globe, Abhishek had more time on his hands, so he started honing his skills in Python, one of the most widely used programming languages for AI.
Conclusion
He gradually progressed to data science, machine learning, deep learning, and other areas, enrolling in courses provided by businesses, such as upgrades, to further his understanding of technology. Initially intended to be a side project, Abhishek was able to about eight-fold increase his income thanks to it. After only four and a half years of work, the 27-year-old computer enthusiast at IBM now makes Rs 28 lakh annually as an AI developer.
