In an exciting development for job seekers across the country, Amazon India has officially teamed up with the Ministry of Labour and Employment. This partnership allows Amazon to post its job openings directly on the National Career Service (NCS) portal, making it simpler for potential candidates to discover and apply for various positions within the company.

Enhancing Job Opportunities

The collaboration aims to create a seamless bridge between job seekers and the multitude of roles available at Amazon. Currently, the NCS portal hosts over 60 lakh active job seekers and 33.50 lakh employers, serving as a crucial platform for job-related services.

Through this partnership, registered users will have access to a wide array of job roles at Amazon, ranging from corporate positions to those in logistics, technology, and customer service. This initiative is particularly noteworthy for its focus on increasing job accessibility for underrepresented communities, including women and individuals with disabilities.

A Commitment to Empower Job Seekers

Deepti Varma, Amazon’s Vice President of HR/People Experience and Technology, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in improving the visibility of job opportunities. She stated, “By integrating with NCS, we aim to enhance the matching process and simplify the journey for job seekers, particularly in underserved regions.” This Memorandum of Understanding reflects Amazon’s dedication to building a diverse and inclusive workforce in India, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility.

Future Initiatives and Community Engagement

The Amazon-Labour Ministry partnership is set to make a lasting impact through various initiatives, including job fairs across the country. These events will facilitate direct interaction between job seekers and Amazon’s recruitment teams, enabling candidates to explore available roles in a more engaging environment.

Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, emphasized that this initiative is designed to empower the youth of India by helping them identify job opportunities that align with their skills and aspirations.

Amazon’s Role in Job Creation

Since its entry into the Indian market, Amazon has been a key player in job creation, contributing to over 13 lakh direct and indirect jobs. The company continually seeks to expand its workforce, particularly during peak seasons, when thousands of seasonal job openings are announced.
