Colliers Secures Contract to Establish EPIC Group's First Manufacturing Unit in Odisha

27 March 2024 – Colliers India has been awarded a significant contract valued at Rs 220 crore by EPIC Designers to build the company’s maiden manufacturing facility in India. EPIC Designers, a Hong Kong-based sustainable fashion firm, has acquired 40 acres of land in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, to set up a state-of-the-art facility aimed at advancing its sustainability goals and future business objectives.

The upcoming manufacturing unit is poised to be entirely self-sustaining in terms of energy and water, featuring eco-conscious elements such as green spaces and zen gardens in its landscape design. EPIC’s commitment to sustainable practices, waste reduction, and carbon footprint mitigation underscores its ambition to redefine industry standards in apparel manufacturing in India. With plans to employ over 6000 individuals, the facility is expected to significantly contribute to local employment opportunities.

Indranil Basu, Managing Director of Project Management at Colliers India, expressed confidence in delivering a project that not only meets global standards but also aligns with EPIC’s vision. The initial phase of the project, covering 338,000 sqft, is scheduled for completion by May 2025, with Colliers aiming to establish a long-term partnership with EPIC Group.

Ranjan Mahtani, Executive Chairman of EPIC Group, emphasized India’s skilled workforce and textile expertise as driving factors behind the decision to expand operations to Odisha. Mahtani highlighted the strategic importance of Odisha’s business environment and location, anticipating that collaboration with Colliers will play a pivotal role in developing a world-class manufacturing facility in line with EPIC’s sustainability objectives.
