"Connected with MHA for Anti-Drone Policy": Following Significant Defence Agreement, Startup Sees Exports to Other Nations

17 April 2024 – A military industry company with headquarters in Chennai that specializes in anti-drone technology has secured a contract from the defense ministry valued at more than Rs 200 crore. Since the central government has started to have talks with foreign nations, the corporation is now searching for its first export order for this fiscal year.

Big Bang Boom Solutions‘ founder, Dr. R Shivaraman, provided insight into the company’s efforts to create anti-drone technology in an exclusive interview with News18. “Several years ago, we had a meeting with Ajay Soni, who was previously affiliated with Punj Lloyd and is today employed by Adani Defence and Aerospace, which sparked our first venture into anti-drone technology. We concluded from this conversation that counter-drone technology—especially indigenous technology—will be necessary as drone use increases.

“Our soft skill system boasts of a fingerprint detector, enabling unparalleled detection ranges of 7-10 km, a significant advancement over existing market solutions,” Shivaraman said, describing the project that pleased the military ministry. With the option for physical takedown, our system, which is driven by AI-based fingerprinting technology, excels in detection and jamming capabilities.

Given the military ministry contract’s revolutionary effects, he emphasized the importance of fostering a strong native environment.
