From April 7, Amazon India Will Change Seller Fees for the Majority of Categories and Products. Report

23 March 2024 – Beginning on April 7, 2024, Amazon India will alter the seller’s charge for the majority of categories and goods. As a result of the updated pricing, many products offered on the site are anticipated to see price increases. Sellers pay an annual fee to Amazon that covers technology, shipping, refunds, and inventory storage. This charge must be paid by the seller each time an item is sold via the online store.

The research states that the fees for home renovation items would increase from 9% to 13.5%, premium cosmetic products from 5% to a tiered system that might reach 10%, and sleepwear from the current 11%–15% to 13.5%–19%.

The selling charge for flip-flops has been increased from 10–12.5 percent to 13–15 percent, while the cost for musical instruments has been raised from 7.5 percent to 10.5 percent.

Conclusion

According to the article, Amazon India will also reduce prices in a few categories, including inverters and batteries (from 5.5% to 4.5%), baby clothing (from 11% to 20%), and others. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and others make money by charging merchants commissions and other fees for goods sold on their marketplaces. The fees change based on changes in the market.
