17 April 2024 – Since their days as co-captains of their high school robotics team, Tim Goltser and Curtis Mason have been making things together. Together with Sean Doherty, whom Mason had met during his time as an undergraduate at Boston University, Goltser and Mason founded the app Hang in their college years, which allows users to plan hangouts with pals.
In 2022, Goltser, Mason, and Doherty had a renewed sense of the entrepreneurial itch. Following some deliberation, they chose to focus on what they believed to be a relatively unexplored market: resources for small firms looking to get government contracts in the United States.
Doherty told TechCrunch, “The small business industrial base has been shrinking for the federal contracting community for much of the past decade.” “These businesses find it challenging to compete with industry titans like Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. They risk running out of money if they lose the pricey contracts they bid on.
Conclusion
Bidding for and obtaining U.S. government contracts is tedious due to complex processes and masses of documentation. Doherty claims that it takes at least weeks to finish and that the most successful businesses are often those with the strongest resources.
