From a One-Rupee Song to a Revolution in Recruitment: HBR, A Journey of Resilience

At Human Before Resource Private Limited (HBR), we believe recruitment is more than filling vacancies, it’s about connecting human potential with the right opportunities. Our journey has been anything but conventional. It’s a story of resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to putting people first.

A Humble Beginning

My journey started in a small audio cassette shop, recording songs for just one rupee each. Every day, I worked with the hope of earning the promised two-rupee daily wage. That promise, however, was never fulfilled. It was my first harsh lesson in life: promises are not always kept.

While continuing my studies, I hustled on the streets, selling products and mastering the art of persuasion. For five years, I worked as a road salesman. This experience gave me the confidence to communicate and connect with people—a skill that would later shape my career.

But the road wasn’t smooth. After transitioning to a job in a telecom DSA (Direct Selling Agent), I faced crushing failure. I realized that target-based roles weren’t for me. The failure was painful, but it fueled my determination to find something I was truly passionate about.

Chasing Dreams in Metro Cities

Driven by ambition, I moved from one city to another—Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, and Noida—searching for better opportunities. Kolkata was an eye-opener. For the first time, I saw people living luxurious lifestyles. It sparked a desire in me to succeed, not just for material gains but to transform my life.

In my desperation, I made a critical mistake: I trusted the wrong people. I borrowed ₹8 lakhs from the market, investing in what I believed was a recruitment business. At the time, I thought recruiters charged candidates for job placements. I was naive and unaware of how recruitment actually worked.

The people I trusted disappeared, taking the entire ₹8 lakhs with them. I was left shattered.

Rock Bottom and the Turning Point

The loss was more than financial—it felt like my entire belief system had crumbled. Suicidal thoughts crossed my mind for the first time. I thought my journey had come to an end.

But then, a realization struck: “If people trusted me with ₹8 lakhs, it meant I had something valuable to offer. If they had faith in me once, I could make them believe in me again.”

This was the turning point. I decided to face my mistakes head-on. I researched, learned the intricacies of recruitment, and started again—this time, the right way.

The Birth of Human Before Resource

From those ashes, Human Before Resource Private Limited was born. It wasn’t just a business; it was a mission. A mission to revolutionize the recruitment industry by prioritizing people over profits, ethics over shortcuts, and trust over transactions.

At HBR, we believe job seekers are more than just “resources.” They are human beings with dreams, aspirations, and untapped potential. Recruitment, to us, is not about filling positions; it’s about transforming lives. Now, with high growth margin, we generated a revenue of 1 Cr for the FY2024-25 and earned 4.5 CR!

Our Vision and Impact

Today, HBR stands as a testament to resilience and innovation.

Our goal is to create a recruitment ecosystem where every deserving candidate gets an equal shot at success. By integrating AI and automation, we’re making hiring seamless and breaking down unnecessary barriers.

Lessons from My Journey

My story is proof that failure is not the end, it’s just a stepping stone. Here are some lessons I’ve learned along the way:

1.Mistakes don’t define you—your ability to rise after failure does.

2.Trust is invaluable. If people believe in you, don’t take it lightly.

3.Never stop learning. Life will test you, but every setback is an opportunity to grow.

4.Put people first. In business and life, prioritizing people leads to lasting impact.

The Road Ahead

As we look to the future, our mission remains the same: to make hiring faster, fairer, and free from unnecessary hurdles. We want to ensure that every job seeker, regardless of background, has a fair chance to succeed.

At Human Before Resource, we don’t just hire people—we help them build careers. Because to us, a person will always be “Human Before Resource.”

Final Words

To anyone out there struggling, remember this: your failures are not the end of your story. They are the chapters that make your success meaningful.
