11th June 2024- Hyderabad has emerged as a prominent player in Asia’s startup landscape, securing the 19th position in the prestigious ‘2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Report’ by Startup Genome. The report, which evaluated 300 cities across 100 countries, recognized Hyderabad’s remarkable progress and contribution to the startup ecosystem.
The city joins the ranks of other Indian metropolises such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune, underscoring India’s growing prominence as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. The assessment criteria included performance, funding, talent and experience, market reach, and knowledge.
Mahankali Srinivas Rao, CEO of T-Hub, attributed Hyderabad’s impressive growth to initiatives like T-Hub, which has played a pivotal role in nurturing and empowering startups by providing access to resources, investors, mentors, and a robust support system.
Among Indian cities, Bangalore and Delhi secured the sixth and seventh positions, respectively, with Mumbai and Pune also making notable appearances in the top rankings. Singapore topped the list in Asia and ranked seventh globally, while Silicon Valley, New York, and London claimed the top positions globally.
Hyderabad’s inclusion in the esteemed list highlights the city’s potential and underscores the concerted efforts to foster a conducive environment for entrepreneurial growth. As India continues to solidify its position in the global startup landscape, Hyderabad’s ascent reflects the city’s commitment to innovation and its role as a thriving ecosystem for startups to flourish.
