24th April 2024 – IIMA Ventures led the pre-seed round for deeptech firm Nabhdrishti Aerospace, which brought in Rs 3 crore (formerly IIMA-CIIE). According to a news statement from the firm, the money raised will be used to construct a fuel flex combustor prototype via extensive testing of the fuel injector and combustor. The firm will be able to demonstrate its own fuel flex technology as a result.
Designs with a power range of 300 SHP to 1,000 SHP and higher will come after this.
Nabhdrishti Aerospace, established in 2023 by Rohit Chouhan and Arjun Srivatsa, would design and build gas turbine engines, starting with a 350 SHP turbo-prop engine for use in power production and aviation.
The business states that fuel flexibility will be included into the development and production of the micro gas turbine (MGT) engines, allowing for improved efficiency and clean fuel compatibility.
Conclusion
The ND 350, the initial product, is a 275 KW turbogenerator. The same core, when combined with a propeller, is claimed to produce 350 SHP, sufficient to power hybrid electric VTOLs (vertical take-off and landing) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
