31 March 2024 – The National Technology Innovation Hub for Advanced Cyber Security, C3iHub, at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), initiated its third, fourth, and fifth startup cohorts in Delhi. These cohorts, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), showcased 19 startups specializing in various cybersecurity domains, including application security, blockchain technology, and IoT security.
C3iHub, funded under the NM-ICPS Mission, aims to address cybersecurity challenges within cyber-physical systems by nurturing startups and collaborating with industries. The initiative focuses on developing tools for vulnerability identification, mitigation, and commercialization, alongside training cybersecurity experts.
The hub’s focus extends to critical sectors such as automotive, drones, and infrastructures, covering cybersecurity domains like network security, cryptography, and intrusion detection. The initiative actively supports startups engaged in cyber forensics, threat intelligence, and cyber insurance.
Incubated startups receive a seed grant of Rs 10 lakhs and a monthly salary of Rs 50,000 for one founder over two years, totaling an initial investment of Rs 22 lakhs. With a target success rate of 20% post-incubation, C3iHub facilitates connections with investors and corporations to foster growth and resilience in India’s digital infrastructure.
Distinguished guests including Abhay Karandikar, Lt. General MU Nair, and Navin Kumar Singh highlighted the significance of C3iHub’s contributions to cybersecurity innovation and capacity building. They emphasized the need for a vibrant cybersecurity ecosystem to address present and future challenges and expressed support for further collaboration and development in the field.
