IIT Madras and Starburst Accelerator to Establish €100M Startup Hub

08 April 2024 – With €100 million in investment backing, the French aerospace and defence company Starburst Accelerator SARL and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) are collaborating to establish an innovative centre for companies. Through this partnership, IIT Madras will facilitate Starburst’s establishment of accelerator programmes aimed at augmenting the Aviation, Space, and Defence (ASD) ecosystem inside India.

Starburst wants to establish venture capital funds for ASD technology, which is a potent catalyst for India’s economic change and integration with international players. Through Starburst’s vast network, this relationship would facilitate export marketing and assist Indian ASD companies looking to explore foreign markets.

On March 25, 2024, in the presence of representatives from IIT Madras and Starburst Aerospace, Francois Chopard, Founder and CEO of Starburst Aerospace, Cedric Vallet, Innovation and Venture Director of Starburst Aerospace, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, and Prof.


Conclusion

Manu Santhanam, Dean (ICSR) of IIT Madras, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding this collaboration. Starburst is an international accelerator for aerospace and military that links companies with government, business, and investors.
