26 March 2024 – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has joined forces with French firm Starburst Accelerator SARL to establish a €100 million startup hub dedicated to India’s aerospace and defense (ASD) sector. This collaborative effort signifies a major push towards fostering innovation and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs in this critical domain.
The €100 million commitment from Starburst Accelerator will provide much-needed funding for startups within the Indian ASD ecosystem. Moreover, Starburst plans to establish dedicated venture capital funds specifically for ASD technology, recognizing its potential to drive advancements in this field.
The initiative goes beyond just funding. A key aspect of the partnership involves creating a consulting team. This team will combine the expertise of IIT Madras alumni, seasoned military veterans, and industry specialists from Starburst.
