J&K Entrepreneurship Drive: JKEDI Conducts Awareness Programs to Ignite Startup Culture Among Youth

11th June 2024- The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organized a series of Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAPs) on Monday as part of its mass awareness initiative under the J&K Startup Policy. These programs were conducted in collaboration with various educational institutions, including Government Degree College (women) in Pulwama, Vishwa Bharti Women’s College in Rainawari, the Department of Tribal Affairs in Poonch, and Government Physical Education College in Ganderbal.

The primary objective of these programs was to promote the newly launched J&K Startup Policy 2024-27 and foster an entrepreneurial mindset among the youth, thereby boosting the overall entrepreneurship ecosystem. District Nodal Officer, Raiyees Manzoor, provided insights on overcoming the challenges associated with starting a new business venture.

The programs witnessed active participation from students who aspire to pursue entrepreneurship as a career upon completion of their education. Faculty members from JKEDI and various colleges, including Government Degree College for Women in Pulwama, played key roles in coordinating and facilitating the sessions.

The J&K Startup Policy aims to facilitate the establishment of 2000 startups by 2027. It emphasizes providing entrepreneurship support to students, women, and entrepreneurs through government initiatives, private sector collaborations, and support from high net worth individuals (HNIs).

Conclusion

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs organized by JKEDI serve as a crucial step in promoting entrepreneurial culture and encouraging youth participation in the startup ecosystem of Jammu and Kashmir.
