12 March 2024 – India successfully tested the Agni-5 missile, which is an indigenously manufactured missile with the capability to launch multiple warheads, in flight on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi proclaimed “Mission Divyastra“‘s achievement. The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is responsible for the design and development of the Agni missiles v. India’s domestically produced missiles have advanced significantly with Agni-5.
2011 saw the missile’s integration into the armed services. With Agni-4, the range expanded even more—it can go up to 4,000 kilometres. The 20-meter missile may be launched from a road-mobile launcher and has a 1,000-kilogram payload capacity. In less than 20 minutes, Agni-4 travelled almost 3,000 kilometres during its test launch in 2012. At the time, it was the DRDO’s longest-range mission.

Its striking range extends over almost all of Asia, including the northernmost portion of China and certain parts of Europe. The missile’s warhead might be divided into many re-entry vehicles with the inclusion of MIRV technology, allowing it to deliver a precise and focused strike.
