A Bangalore Based Startup Mushloop Trying to Fit a Sustainable Product Loop in the Market

Mushloop

There are countless ways of adopting a sustainable lifestyle even when we don’t want to deliberately do it. Our Households generate a lot of waste every day that directly goes to dustbins without even giving a thought to how it can be recycled.

Everything is available online, YouTube will help us find hundreds of ways to fully utilize a particular product. For example, the tea leaves waste after making the tea can be put into plants as a compost which will give extra nutrients to it. Our little efforts make a lot of difference.

Changing daily habits and trying to understand sustainable ways is not that hard and can be adapted as a part of our routine. The peeled-off skin from fruits and vegetables can also be dried up and used for various purposes.

The main point here is that we have to be a little mindful about our choices and change the way of seeing this nature as only a giver. Ventures like ‘Mushloop’ are making us aware of the possibilities of buying products that are recovered from Mother Nature’s lap and possess the potential to be returned to nature in a biodegradable way

The headstart for Mushloop

Mushloop is a sustainable packaging startup that replaces styrofoam and single-use plastics with mycelium and agricultural waste. New ideas inspire the company to do great work. Mushloop is solving the pollution made by petrochemical-based plastics and styrofoam which are widely used in the packaging industry and take a lot of years to just degrade. This venture is trying to solve the pollution problem generated by burning agricultural waste or crops after cultivation by farmers because they don’t have funds or labor to clear it.

Mushloop creates employment opportunities for farmers by segregating farming waste and using it for the company’s product manufacturing. They generally make revenue by selling packaging materials and solutions to the manufacturers. The whole packaging process of

depends upon two important ingredients- Mycelium and Crop Waste. Mushloop’s packaging products can be used for any sort of material shipping and protection. They are durable and reliable.

After the packing material is utilized for the product completely, it can be broken up and spread into the garden bed, where it is converted back into compost. Mushloop Packaging uses minimal amounts of resources and contains zero man-made chemicals. It is an Earth-friendly alternative to Styrofoam which is one big step towards sustainable coexistence with a healthy planet.

  • Secondly, by using the 3D Print Soft tool, Mushloop will provide a 3D prototype for the product to the clients along with printed tooling, and tray mould produced. Afterward, production dates will be finalised as per the deadline and requirements.
  • As a next step, the quality of the production will be checked if it matches the standard or not and the mushroom packaging prototype will be sent with a unique tracking number.
  • The client’s packaging will be tested to check the size, fit, look, and feel and to understand its suitability for transportation conditions.
  • Lastly, depending on the delivery time already decided, Mushlooop will start the manufacturing of the packing material.
