Production at Adani Total Gas's First Biogas Plant, the Barsana Biogas Plant, Begins

01 April 2024 – Phase 1 of Adani Total Energies Biomass Limited’s Barsana Biogas Plant in Mathura was put into service on Sunday. ATBL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited. The plant is situated on Shri Mataji Gaushala’s property.

According to a firm statement, after all three project stages are completed, the Barsana Biogas Project will have an overall capacity of 600 tons per day (TPD) of feedstock, producing 217 TPD of organic fertilizer and over 42 TPD of compressed biogas (CBG). Over Rs 200 crore will be spent on the Barsana Biogas facility over its three project stages.

This is ATBL’s first CBG manufacturing plant. The facility reduces greenhouse gas emissions and dependency on fossil fuels by converting organic materials into sustainable biogas using cutting-edge anaerobic digestion technology. “We are excited to unveil our endeavour to contribute to sustainable energy production,” said Suresh P. Manglani, ATGL’s ED and CEO.

Conclusion

Our Chairman Shri Gautam Adani’s dedication to using renewable resources to the fullest extent possible in order to build a cleaner, more sustainable environment for our future generations is embodied in the Barsana Biogas Plant. Apart from generating Compressed Bio Gas (CBG), the facility also produces superior organic fertilizer, which supports the concepts of the circular economy and sustainable agriculture.
