Divya in Shark Tank said jewellery is the expression of self. Am sure many of you would agree with her on this, we all are picky  when it comes to jewellery. So here they are two sisters who have now built their brand with one sister being the soul and the other being the body and the mind behind the innovation.

Founders of Quirksmith:

The unique silver jewellery brand that goes beyond being mere adornments  founded by the dynamic duo, Divya Batra and Pragya Batra in 2016, is not just a jewellery brand; it’s a conversation starter, a poetry in silver that resonates with the soul.

The inception of Quirksmith traces back to the fusion of passion and expertise. Divya Batra, an alumnus of NIFT Gandhi Nagar with a knack for creating designs that speak to the heart, joined hands with her sister Pragya Batra, IIT student with 15 years of hands-on experience. Their collaboration birthed a brand that effortlessly merges craftsmanship with poetry, creating pieces that move the boundaries of conventional jewellery.

The uniqueness of Quirksmith lies in its ability to infuse emotions into every piece of silver. The brand’s USP is a powerful trifecta – ‘Dil’ (heart), ‘Atma’ (soul) and mind Divya’s eye for design and mastery in silversmithing and Pragya’s expertise in business development resulted in jewellery that goes beyond aesthetics, creating a profound connection with the wearer.

Adding another feather to the cap is Pragya Batra’s educational background from the prestigious IIT Delhi, which undoubtedly contributes to the brand’s precision and innovation. The amalgamation of creativity from NIFT and engineering prowess from IIT reflects in every meticulously crafted piece, making Quirksmith a symbol of artistry and technical finesse.

They faced challenges during Covid-19. Despite the hurdles, the brand stood resilient, showcasing the true spirit of its founders. Their commitment to delivering unique, high-quality pieces found favour with their dedicated customer base, resulting in a remarkable following of 3 lakh loyal customers.

They touched the Sharks through their unique designs. Vineeta was really impressed and her gift read as “shor nahi ek nayi awaz ki shuruwat hoon” and our favourite manmauji was given to Aman Gupta for his energetic and wild spirit. 

Their ask to the Sharks was for 80 lakhs for 1% equity. Quirksmith’s story is not just about jewellery; it’s a narrative of passion, resilience, and the power of self-expression through art. As the brand continues to evolve, it remains a beacon for those seeking not just ornaments but a tangible form of poetry that resonates with the depths of the heart and soul.
