19 March 2024 – Tata Sons, the holding company of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is set to divest a significant portion of its stake in TCS, aiming to raise a minimum of ₹9,300 crore. The move, scheduled for Tuesday, marks a strategic decision amidst a dynamic market landscape. Facilitated by JP Morgan, the sale involves 23.4 million shares of TCS, with a floor price of ₹4,001 per share, reflecting a 3.6% discount from Monday’s closing price.
As of December 31, 2023, Tata Sons maintained a 72.38% stake in TCS, making this divestment a pivotal step in its financial strategy. Despite a slight decline in TCS’s stock value on Monday, the company boasts a formidable market capitalization exceeding ₹15 lakh crore, underscoring its prominence in India’s tech sector.
