On Friday, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the biggest information technology services firm in India, said that it has reduced its workforce by a total of 1,759 people between January and March of 2024. With this, the total number of employees employed by the firm as of the 31st of March, 2024 was 6,01,546.
According to a regulatory filing made by the firm, the total number of employees employed by TCS is among the lowest it has been in the last two years. The overall number of employees at the corporation has decreased for the third consecutive quarter, which is the quarter that ended in March 2024.
The workforce of TCS had a decrease of 5,680 individuals over the previous quarter, which took place between October and December 2023, bringing the total headcount to 603,305. In the fiscal year 2023-24, TCS has made a total reduction of 13,249 people via its workforce.
