Every great journey begins with a simple yet powerful idea. For The Pickls, that idea was rooted in a deep love for authentic, homemade flavours—the kind that bring back memories of home-cooked meals and family traditions. Founded by Pravallika and her husband, Sudharshan M K along with Dileep Kollu, the brand was born out of a desire to make preservative-free, traditional food products accessible to a larger audience.
After spending several years in the UAE, the couple made the difficult decision to return to Bengaluru due to the declining health of the Sudharshan’s father. This transition, though challenging, provided the perfect opportunity to pursue a passion for food and sustainability. The Pickls was created not just to offer traditional pickles and spice powders but also to promote healthy eating through organic millets and ready-to-cook millet products.
Building a Brand with a Purpose
The Pickls officially launched in May 2024, built on a foundation of authenticity and sustainability. The brand’s name reflects its core offering—homemade pickles with a unique identity, evident even in its distinct spelling. However, beyond its products, the company aims to make a greater impact by supporting local women and procuring organic millets directly from Karnataka farmers, providing fair compensation and encouraging sustainable agriculture.
With an initial investment funded through personal savings, the brand started as a two-person team, relying on word-of-mouth marketing and personal networks to grow. Despite the challenges, demand steadily increased, leading to the launch of an online store (thepickls.com), which now delivers across India.
Overcoming Challenges and Staying Committed
The journey to establishing The Pickls was not without obstacles. The founder, who grew up in Palamaneru, Andhra Pradesh, came from a modest background and pursued a career in IT, working for Fortune 500 companies for over 15 years. While professionally successful, personal struggles and financial constraints made the transition to entrepreneurship difficult.
Balancing the launch of The Pickls alongside investments in Frontial Technologies meant making tough financial decisions, cutting back on expenses, and taking on extra work to sustain both ventures. The year 2023 proved to be one of the most challenging, but the belief in the brand’s mission remained strong and unchanged.

Mission and Vision
The Pickls is driven by a clear mission:
● To bring homemade, preservative-free flavours to Indian households.
● To helping local women by creating employment opportunities.
● To support farmers by sourcing organic millets at fair prices.
● To promote healthier eating habits through organic and ready-to-cook millet products. With a vision to become a household name in the homemade food industry, The Pickls continues to expand its offerings while staying true to traditional recipes. Sustainability and community impact remain at the heart of the brand’s journey.
End Note
At the core of The Pickls lies a belief that resonates deeply with its founders:
“The real taste of success is in perseverance. No matter how difficult the journey, staying true to one’s purpose will always lead to success.”
Through passion, dedication, and a strong commitment to quality, The Pickls is not just offering food—it is reviving traditions, supporting communities, and redefining the meaning of homemade goodness.
