Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, Says He Wants to Increase Investment in Vietnam: Reports

Tim Cook's Diplomatic Response to Apple Manufacturing in Indonesia

16 April 2024 –Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple Inc., met with Pham Minh Chinh, the prime minister of Vietnam, and the two discussed how to increase high-quality investment and collaboration activities in Vietnam, according to state-run media VTV.

Over the last ten years, the number of businesses assembling Apple goods in Vietnam has increased by nearly four times. The Cupertino, California-based corporation said in a statement that it is boosting its Vietnam commitments by an amount yet to be disclosed. Through its supply chain partners, Apple has spent around 400 trillion dong ($16 billion) in the nation since 2019, according to the business.

According to VTV, the prime minister said that Vietnam would form a working committee to assist Apple. He requested Cook’s assistance in educating and establishing a top-notch staff, as well as support for green development and renewable energy sources.

According to local media, Cook spoke with musicians, content producers, and programmers during his two days in the country’s capital, Hanoi. Cook arrived in Hanoi on Monday morning.
