Varun Alagh & Mamaearth Jouney
Mamaearth is one of the most sought-after skincare brands because it began its journey with a very simple mission to present a gap between safe and toxin-free products and their users, especially babies and mothers. This brand was initiated by Varun Alagh and Ghazal Alagh in the year 2016 under Honasa Consumer Pvt Ltd, and it has registered its name in the list of beauty and skincare industries.
The Story Behind Mamaearth
Mamaearth was an innovation by first-time parents, Varun and Ghazal, who couldn’t find safe and chemical-free skincare for their baby. Parabens and sulfates are part of the bad chemicals, so the brand offered products devoid of such elements. More focus was on the development process, ensuring that it would be safe not only for children but also for adults, as it meant no place for toxins.
Growth and Popularity:
The very natural and eco-friendly products by Mamaearth resounded very quickly amongst the consumers. Starting with baby care, Mamaearth forayed into skincare, haircare for adults, and personal care products. Favorites included face washes, shampoos, and moisturisers-all based on natural ingredients and clear labelling.
Becoming a Unicorn
Mamaearth has shown remarkable success only in a few years of sheer hard work. It became the first Indian D2C brand to be valued above $1 billion and achieved unicorn status in 2021. All this happened because honesty went into toxin-free products by Mamaearth.
