Vietnam's Version Of Efishery, Tepbac, Is Trying To Fund $20 Million

18 April 2024 – In 2023, EFishery became the first company from the aquaculture industry to be accepted into the tech unicorn club in Southeast Asia and the globe. One company in Vietnam wants to replicate eFishery’s success.

To expand its operations, Tepbac, which provides services to 5,000 prawn growers in the three southern provinces of Long An, Ca Mau, and Bac Lieu, is seeking capital between $10 million and $20 million.

Tepbac was founded in 2012 by CEO and founder Duy Phong Tran, whose family has farmed prawns in Bac Lieu for more than 25 years. At first, it was only an educational website where farmers could get guidance about environmentally friendly methods of raising prawns and the use of technology.

Conclusion

Since then, the company’s line of business has expanded to include Farmext, a farm management software. Additionally, it provides Internet of Things devices that check water quality, automate feeding, and maximise power use in shrimp farms. Tepbac also runs a network of aquaculture laboratories and an online marketplace for agricultural goods.
