They believe there is a huge gap between affordable tasty food in every major cuisine segment and gourmet food which is very expensive.

The major problem that the customers face is that they have to go from one service provider to another for different dishes, flavors or tastes. Vision Foods has a cloud kitchen with 8 different food brands. This kitchen is designed to solve the problem of having to go to many different places to find good food. All of the brands are in one place, making it easier for customers to find and enjoy their favorite foods.

Vision Foodworks is simplifying customers’ decision making process by bringing together all the diverse delicious offerings in one place. They create a one-stop solution for customers to explore a wide range of cuisines, flavors, and dining experiences, all conveniently accessible through a single ordering interface. Their idea is to be the customer’s top choice when they think of ordering food online whether it be a Biryani or a Burger or a curry meal.

Meet The Founder of Vision Foods

There are 3 co-founders of Vision Foodworks, each specialize in their respective core areas. They have been running the show together for almost close to 9 years now.

  • Aadarsh handles the ERP, Aggregators and Purchase.
  • Harsh handles the Operations & Finance.
  • Pulkit handles Product & Culinary, Innovation & Brand Creation.

The three of them have known each other since their school days dating back to the 7th standard. They are also close friends in real life beyond work.

Pulkit joined the start-up after the first 3 months of launch. Aadarsh and Harsh were looking for their third co-founder as they wanted to pursue MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai. Just like any good old friends on a usual weekend Aadarsh and Pulkit met for beers at a bar without any agenda of talking business and as a matter of destiny they brewed a business partnership then and there. Pulkit led the business from the front in the first two years forming the base and operationally managing the business with full support and brainstorming with his co-founders.

Story Behind The Brand

The founders got this business idea back in 2014, when they started the business. Aadarsh had gone to Hyderabad to meet his elder brother. He witnessed how ordering food on call even late in the night was an easy task and foresaw a huge demand and potential for such a service back in his hometown Kolkata.This kind of service was almost non-existent in Kolkata.

He pitched this idea to his first Co-founder and school buddy Harsh, who equally believed and resonated with the concept. And then Pulkit joined them eventually.

They came up with their first brand name ‘SANTA DELIVERS’ which signifies late night culture and goodies (in this case food) delivered to customers. All of them were young and had no capital to start, so they figured out an idea to start the business for just Rs 10000.

They searched and found out a food kiosk vendor whose service was available till late night. He agreed to partner up with them. Initially for months they operated without any of their own kitchen and repackaged the food prepared by the vendor into their brands printed containers. There was no turning back after this.

The Challenges

People face a lot of problems when ordering food online. There’s always a reliability issue and hygiene problem in online ordering. And another major problem that people face is going from one place to another to find two different dishes. There’s not a single place where you can find a large variety of things to choose from and all of them are healthy, tasty and deliverable.

Vision Foods is solving these issues. Similar to how Dominos and Mcdonald’s are the first choice for ordering Pizza and Burgers respectively, they are striving to be a one stop kitchen for ordering any highly popular food segment that is not only limited to one product or category.

Since quality and hygiene is a big doubt in today’s world, they’re striving to be a one stop kitchen for reliable, online fresh food ordering. All this time, they have gained a lot of trust and loyalty through their superior product offerings, diverse brands, and constant innovation mindset.

The Journey So Far

First Day of the business was 24th December 2014. They started receiving people’s appreciation. Customers started acknowledging the service and the problem they were solving – that is providing food late after midnight. They started this business model before the onset of swiggy and zomato online ordering era. They were the first movers. They started cloud kitchens before such a terminology even started to exist.

Currently, they are doing close to 50000 orders every month with 8 brands under their portfolio. The three friends have made their dreams come true. They prepare every product in-house from scratch freshly from the base at their central kitchen. They run multiple online restaurants from each single kitchen, whereas each online restaurant caters to an individual cuisine segment which has a very big market potential.
