Kumar Venkatasubramanian Appointed as CEO of P&G India

18 March 2024 – P&G India has announced the appointment of Kumar Venkatasubramanian as its CEO, effective from May 1, 2024. Venkatasubramanian, an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, brings nearly 24 years of experience, with a significant portion of it dedicated to driving growth and innovation in various roles at P&G India.

Having commenced his journey with P&G India’s sales team straight from campus in 2000, Venkatasubramanian has played a crucial role in the company’s growth trajectory. His leadership in the sales function for P&G India and subsequent role as CEO of P&G Australia have been instrumental in delivering record metrics, driven by category growth and strong retailer partnerships.

Venkatasubramanian’s advocacy for Equality and Inclusion has been evident throughout his career, with a focus on expanding programs to have a significant impact on employees and the community. Notably, under his leadership, P&G ANZ forged its largest-ever corporate partnership with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Venkatasubramanian’s appointment comes as LV Vaidyanathan, the current CEO of P&G India, prepares to depart the company after 28 years of service to pursue other personal interests. Vaidyanathan’s contributions to P&G India have been substantial, and his departure marks the end of an era.

The market has responded positively to the news, with shares of P&G trading 2.64 percent higher on March 18, reflecting confidence in Venkatasubramanian’s ability to lead P&G India into its next phase of growth and innovation.
