Vodafone Idea has inked a $3.6 billion network expansion deal with leading telecom equipment providers Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung. This major agreement focuses on enhancing the company’s existing 4G infrastructure while laying the groundwork for its much-anticipated 5G network rollout across India. The collaboration aims to improve customer experience and network capacity, with the telco prioritizing urban and rural regions for 4G expansion. Simultaneously, the deal enables Vodafone Idea to prepare for its 5G services launch shortly. As part of the plan, Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung will deploy advanced technologies to support a seamless transition into 5G, helping Vodafone Idea compete more effectively in the highly competitive Indian telecom market.
